What it is

Carboxytherapy is the controlled injection of anidride carbonica into the skin or subcutaneous tissue, with very fine needles and equipment that calibrates the flow.

It introduces no drugs or foreign substances: it uses a gas the body produces and eliminates naturally. This is what makes it a well-tolerated procedure.

How it works

  • Dilates the microcirculation and increases blood flow in the treated area
  • Promotes the release of oxygen from the tissues — the Bohr effect
  • Stimulates the production of new collagen
  • It acts on fat cells
  • Helps drain excess fluid

The main treatment areas.

A targeted approach to improve microcirculation, skin quality and tissue health.

Cellulite

Including the oedematous-fibrosclerotic form.

Localised fat deposits

Localised deposits that do not respond to diet.

Skin laxity

Loss of tone and skin ageing.

Cicatrici e smagliature

Including uneven pigmentation.

Gambe gonfie

Peripheral microcirculation disorders.

How it works

01

Assessment

Clinical visit and medical history: we establish whether the treatment is appropriate, on which area and at what intensity.

02

The session

From 15 to 30 minutes. Micro-injections with the flow regulated by a flow meter. During the injection you feel warmth or a slight burning that passes within moments.

03

The course

From 6 to 15 sessions, weekly or twice weekly. Then periodic maintenance sessions.

04

I risultati

A feeling of lightness and better tone is noticeable after two or three sessions. Visible improvements come at the end of the course, and are maintained with top-up sessions.

After the treatment

Some reactions are temporary and entirely normal.

  • Slight redness in the treated area
  • Gonfiore temporaneo
  • Small bruises at the injection sites
  • A feeling of tightness or slight soreness for a few hours
  • A temporary crackling sensation under the skin, which resolves on its own

When the treatment may not be appropriate

Some clinical conditions require a more thorough specialist assessment.

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Insufficienza respiratoria
  • Severe liver, kidney or heart failure
  • Anemia grave
  • Active skin infections or lesions
  • Uncontrolled systemic conditions

Suitability for treatment is always established during the specialist visit.

Aesthetic Medicine

It starts with the assessment.

During the visit we establish whether carboxytherapy is the right approach, on which area and for how many sessions.
